In January, 2014 we decided to try a whole-food plant-based diet for three months. We came to this decision after reading the book Discovering the Word of Wisdom (check out the video version Greg helped produce!) which illustrates a strong connection between scientific research and the teachings found in the scriptures of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We cut out refined sugar, meat, dairy, and refined flour from our diet. To replace these things, we ate more vegetables, fruits, beans, and whole grains. Our diligence in continuing with our WFPB plan is even greater since reading The China Study.
